Hello, to all. I am attempting to learn more about Felty's syndrome. My brother's girlfriend of many years, has this as a complication from years of Rheumatoid arthritis. She is really very ill and has spleen failure and almost nonexistant immune system. She is on Medicaid and gets decent care but does not want to go thru all of the treatments they have planned for her. I am not sure what else to ask, and I wonder if it is curable or at least managable. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Hey there, Chimera68. Linzack here... or actually David G. My wife recently was diagnosed with Felty's and she's going through a tough time, but seemingly improving with medication. If it helps, she's on the following: methotrexate (a form of chemotherapy via pill form), Prednizone, Folic Acid, Vitamin D and Calcium. In the past two weeks, she's regained some mobility in her joints and a bit more comfort in breathing. I don't know if this will help you but we're all learning as we go along. Good luck to your brother's G.F. If you'd like to ask more, just drop me a line either here or for a more personal response, Linzack@aol.com. Ciao. D.

Great news. Only a few weeks ago, I found this group on line. And my first post was how my wife had been diagnosed with Felty's. Well, I'm so thrilled to post now that through her chemo, prednizone, Folic Acid and a few other medications there is great news. My wife is no longer bedridden. As a matter of fact, she's even able now to go out of the house for a few hours at a time. She's not over Felty's by a long shot. But between her Rheumatologist's visits, medications and will power, we've seen a mini miracle. So my wife wanted me to post this for those of you who have inquired. And if this gives nothing more than hope to you sufferers or families of sufferers, we wish you thanks for your thoughts and keep up your spirits. Felty's is terrible. But it can be beaten. So bless you all and we'll keep posting our progress. And if you have any questions that we might be able to answer, please feel free to ask. There's nothing like someone sharing their experiences to help us all along. David
