MDJunction to me

carmen33"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

I was diagnosed about two months ago. I was in a panic and looking for solutions. mpmom was a huge help. Like many, I too, had the right upper abdominal pain, but I was also losing weight rapidly and unintentionally. After an ultrasound, they discovered the fatty liver.

Fortunately my blood levels were normal.

My doctor was no help. She didn't want to send me to a dietician or a gastroenterologist. Her only advice was...Just eat simple. No pork or beef and eat simple.

After the frustration subsided, I decided that noone will care about me more than myself. So I took things into my own hands.

I downloaded a calories application to my iPhone and started keeping track of my calories. There's an excellent free one called "my fitness pal". IT'S BEEN INVALUABLE. If you don't have it, DOWNLOAD IT!. You can also track online if you don't have an iPhone. www.myfitnesspal.com

In order to maintain my weight, I need 2080 calories a day. With the reduced fat in my diet, it's taken twice the amount of food I normally eat to get to that number.

If you need to lose weight, it will give you the exact calories you need in order to lose 2 pounds a week.

I started to slow my weight loss and actually gained a pound which was encouraging for me. Now I know the exact number I need to lose slowly or gain slowly. It's gotten easier over time.

I just started a ten day colon hydrotherapy. Two days so far and I feel great! The therapist helping me has been so amazing. On day 7, we do a liver cleanse which I'm looking forward to. I read a testimony there at the clinic and found someone with cirrhosis who went through it. That was the clincher for me.

I'm blogging my journey to help others who have struggles with Fatty Liver.

www.mytendaycleanse.blogspot.com.

I don't make any money from it. I really want to help. Come and take the journey with me. You might learn something about yourself.

Leave some comments if you visit. We all could use some encouragement.

On August 3rd, I'm going to get a biopsy. I'm confident that it will come back clean.

If you want to get better, don't wait for your doctor. Take your situation into your own hands. Be proactive and most of all....LOVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TO WANT TO CHANGE!

Aloha,

Chris Smile
