I've never really gotten any help or diagnosis. I've gone to a family doctor and then to a neurologist, but got no help. The neurologist told me I probably suffered a nervous breakdown and the head tremors are the result. Now I don't have insurance coverage so I don't have any plans to get treatment anytime in the near future. So I hope I can find the support I need from this group.

I really don't know what to say except that I am in disbelief every time I've thought about how to respond to your post. I am unaware if a nervous breakdown would cause a tremor, but the thing that really gets me is that you did not get any type of a diagnosis. Did this doctor do any type of testing?

First of all, let me start by saying thank you so much for responding to my post. I can honestly say I've never "talked" to anyone about this, so it feels good to have a source to turn to.

Yes, I've gone through testing. I had an EKG, EEG, and some other tests. But the day I had them done my head wasn't shaking. The doctor looked at me like I was crazy. I felt crazy. He didn't take me seriously at all. From that day on I haven't brought it up to another doctor because I never want to get that type of response again.

teener: did your doctor ever prescribe any meds for you?

Yes. One was Paxil and I can't remember the other one. I gained 30 pounds in 4 months so I went off the meds. Do you know of any that work well and without the weight gain side effects? When we have insurance I'll go to our doctor (not the idiot I went to before).

How has your shake been? Paxil....I tried that one years ago (anti-depressant) and I had the weight gain also. Some of the counselor' that I work with would say it should have been coined "Put it on with Paxil".

I use Propanolol, which also helps with anxiety since it lowers the blood pressure.

Have you been looking for a doctor that you can go to when you have insurance coverage?
