ok well this is kinda strange.. i'm going to see my neuro in a few days but i would like to also hear from other people that might have went through this aswell..

the past two days i havent slept very good and last night i barely got any sleep at all ( i kept waking up during the night for no reason). i also had a HUGE mood swing last night and this morning aswell.. i burst out in tears yesterday for no perticular reason i just felt so upset and then today i was just mad at everyone and i just wanted to be left alone.. later on i started feeling very tired and i got this strong feeling of deja vu followed right after that by an aura but nothing happend.. an hour later i was at my granmothers house and i was really sleepy so l layed down on the sofa and i fell asleep i woke up i think from my aura ( my aura is feeling really terrified) and it lasted about 15 seconds (kinda longer than usual) then it stopped still nothing happend i fell back to sleep and i woke up about five minutes later and my left hand fingers were kinda twitching i tried to open my mouth to call out to my mom who was sitting on the other side of the room but i couldnt. the next thing i know my left leg gives a very strong jerk then my whole body is just jerking and jerking i fell of the sofa onto the tiles ( i fell flat on my face but thank GOD i didnt feel anything!) my legs and arms kept jerking and my head aswell i was just rolling all over the room.. i know it sounds like a grand mal but i was conscious the whole time! i dont get it i mean i couldnt FEEL anything even when i fell on my face or when i kept bumping everything i didnt feel nothing but i couldnt stop what was happening either.. i must have lost conscious for a few seconds right b4 i hit the floor i dont remember actually FALLING but i still remember everything else.. my mom said this was exactly the same as when i woke up from my surgery but then i had LOST complete concsiousness.. here i didnt.. could this be another type of partial seizure? or is it in the progress of changing ? or is it grand mal? i'm really confused and scared

I have never heard anyone describe having a seizure like that. I have the same type of aura as you but I have always loss consciousness during my seizure. That doesn't mean there aren't people that don't though. If you haven't already told your dr. about this, find out from him. He's the one that would know. And he would be the one to find out what is going on if this is something to be concerned with. I can't imagine though having one and being conscious. That's why I have always said in my situation the aura is the worst part of the seizure for me, because I don't know or feel anything during the seizure. Take Care, Gidget

I've had tonic-clonic (gran mal) and not lost consciousness on at least 4 occassions.I've been ending up in the E/R more often because of these sz's.

I have grand mal too with the same aura u have bronzy. only once did i experience being concious sortof. my dad was with me, he is better at knowing everything that happened. I would be awake and convulse, but then I would black out. the only reason I know i blacked out is because there were time gaps I couldn't account for.I had to go to the ER.the Another time I thought i yelled for my dad but he said he didnt hear anything, he was in the other room. it was quiet so i must not have been able to yell. I was mad for a while because i remembered myself yelling and him not helping, but he would have if i could actually yell.

I think there is a huge number of epilepsy types. my neuro explained my seizure to me. first the start of aura has its own name, then the next sttemp has another name, etc. I hope you get some good info from your neuro and this helped too.

I have been on meds since i was 2. I have never found a med that works perfectly. I have gone 2 years without a seizure but Inever know. If you think you have found a good doctor, tell your parents. I had a hard time finding a neuro and feeling comfortable talkinng to him. I hope your dad comes around, I can not imagine being the parent of someone with epilepsy. It always helped me to write down how my seizure happened etc. so I didnt leave anything out when i talked to my neuro. If i dont write it down, my brain goes a bit blank when i am talking to my doctor. bye, cora
