MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

Hello everyone...I'm new to this website and was wondering if anyone out there ever experienced a shock-like, shiver, or zappy feeling in their heads. I know these types of feelings can be related to certain types of antidepressant withdrawl, but I have had these feelings on & off in my head since I can remember - long before I ever went on any type of medication. They come & go & sometimes I won't have them for a while, then they come back & I'll have them everyday. Sometimes they are so bad I can feel them down to my finger tips. Only once do I remember having these lead up to an episode, but the episode was very mild.

Any thoughts or experiences are appreciated!Smile

I have never had your type of experiences. all I can suggest is that after it happens again. write down exactly what happens. then tell your neurologist. Do you have one? did you stop the anti-depressants cold turkey? that is really dangerous. If you do need a doctor, I think this web site knows how to go about finding one. Hope this helped. and that you let me what you do about this

I have a neurologist and am currently on AEDs & antidepressants. I've never stopped any med cold turkey. These shocks have been happening since I was young, before I was ever on any type of meds. In my last post, I just meant that I know that these feelings can be experienced by people who are withdrawing from certain antidepressants (cymbalta, paxil etc.), but that is not why this is happening to me as I've had this before any meds were ever introduced.

I've asked my doctor about these and he said they were related to my myoclonus, but I guess I really don't undrstand why, which is why I'm asking here if anyone has had this experience, maybe they can shed some light.
