MDJunction to me

djfilippone"Before I found this site I felt so alone.  Watching my daughter struggle with IH and being treated like she had two heads from doctors.    I have plenty of family and friends but there was nobody that really knew what she was going through.
I not only have support and love from others who will listen and share their
story, but I have made some forever friends.  Having this support site does make a difference to many.

HI EVERYONE,

I HAD A TOTAL HYSTERECTOMY IN DEC 2010. AFTER THE SURGERY THE DOCTOR TOLD ME HE HAD TO LEAVE A LITTLE PIECE OF ONE OF MY OVARIES INTACT BECAUSE IT WAS FUSED WITH MY URETHRA AND THAT COULD NOT BE OPERATED ON. I AM ON NO HRT. FOR MONTHS THOUGH I HAVE FELT SIDE EFFECTS OF SURGICAL MENOPAUSE I WAS PRACTICALLY PAINFREE. HOWEVER I'M RECENTLY EXPERIENCED SOME EXCRUCIATING PAIN THAT HAS ME FEELING THE ENDO IS BACK. THIS WAS PRACTICALLY MY LAST OPTION AS I HAVE TRIED OTHER METHODS BEFORE MAKING THIS RADICAL DECISION. THIS DISEASE HAS TAKEN SO MUCH FROM ME - I AM ALL ALONE AND JOBLESS BECAUSE PAINKILLERS CANNOT EASE THE PAIN AND I CANNOT FUNCTION FOR DAYS EACH MONTH. I WAS NOW TRYING TO GET BACK ON MY FEET AND THE PAIN IS BACK AND THESE SURGERIES ARE NOT CHEAP.

CAN ANYONE OUT THERE RECOMMEND SOME PAINKILLER, PROCEDURE, HERBS, ANYTHING THAT HAVE EASED THEIR PAIN SO THAT THEY CAN CARRY ON A NORMAL LIFE?

THANK YOU.

I purchase a book called "Recipes for the Endometriosis Diet" by Carolyn Levett. Basically they are vegan recipes with the option of organic fish/seafood and organic chicken added, no red meat. One big bone of contention with her is soy(I agree). It mimics estrogen which is detrimental to persons with endo. Soy is in everything, vegetable oil, salad dressing, etc... I read labels like crazy.

She also says no to dairy and I have cut back some but love my cheese so? Sugar is an inflammatory so I cut out soda, daily desserts, etc.. Gluten is also an inflammatory so she gives you alternatives for baking. You can buy this book online for about $15.

I don't follow everthing because I am a serious foody but I really learned alot. I hope this helped.

THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. I'VE READ SOME EXCERPTS FROM THAT BOOK. IT'S REAL DIFFICULT TO STAY ON TRACK WITH THE DIET ESPECIALLY GLUTEN AND DIARY. I GUESS I HAVE TO HAVE MORE SELF CONTROL BECAUSE PAIN IS NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.
