Hello, I was diagnosed with Endo probably 10 years ago now. I try to keep a journal of the problems I have each month to see if anything changes, etc...Anyway, every month just a few days prior to actually getting my period and throughout, I have shortness of breath and pretty bad chest pain. I know the endo can spread to various parts of the body, but am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I would be interested from hearing back if anyone has any information. Thanks

Tawnya

Hi. I did have some growth on on of my lungs which caused chest pain. But if you have any kind of chest pains or breath shortness it is absolutely vital that you see a doctor or go to your local Accident and Emergency immediately. It could be a clot or anything. Do not waste any time with this, please seek medical advice today.

Thank you for getting back to me. I have gone in the past and nothing was ever found, they did EKG and XRay's. It's strange because it is every month at the time of my period. I have read that the endo can spread upwards to the lungs etc, so since the timing of the pain every month coincided I've been wondering about it. I have also recently had Mammogram and ultrasound on breasts. Thank you for your advice.

It might well be then. The only way to tell is via laperoscopy. I sympathise, it is a horrible pain.

Yes, definitely persist until you figure out what it is. It may be your hormones causing this if the endo has spread to your chest. I have heard that it can even spread to your brain..scary stuff!
Hugs,
Jennifer

I have had Endo for years and have been on the pill for YEARS. I recently was hospitalized and nearly died with chest pain from Pulmanary Embolisms. Clots in the Lungs...caused by the pill (Ortho Low..then YAZ). If you are having pains and are on the pill, please, please talk to your doctor about it. Get a CAT scan and make sure it's nothing serious.

If you click into my profile you can read how THAT all came about.
