Web of Benefit gives grants to women from abusive relationships who want to leave and start over, but have no money. Below is information from their website along with a link. If you are already out of your abusive relationship, consider making a donation to them this holiday season to pay it forward.

"Web of Benefit's mission is to promote liberation from domestic violence and ensure the personal and financial independence of survivors, while breaking the inter-generational cycle of abuse.

To date, Web of Benefit, Inc. has awarded more than 1,000 Self-Sufficiency Grants to survivors of domestic violence for: housing stabilization, education, computers, child care, transportation, health care and micro- financing small businesses. These grants were specifically designed to empower each woman to define and realize her own individual goals and rebuild her dreams. In 2009, WOB expanded its grant-giving to the Cook County/ Chicago area.

Our Record of Success*

66% of clients are now in permanent housing;

88% are closer to realizing their dreams;

87% of clients have completed two or more Good Works;

98% were satisfied with Web of Benefit services;

50% have increased their educational levels, with a 73% increase in college graduates.

*Figures are calculated from surveyed clients after one year from our 2005-2011 survey"

Thanks for posting this Meg. Do they have any stats on how efficient they are with the funds? I tried to look them up on www.charitynavigator.com but they are unlisted. I was just thinking about drawing up a living will and maybe I'll direct some of my assets there Smile

I don't know. Maybe you should call them and talk to someone in charge.
