I am a little paranoid that my computer might be bugged. There are some coincidences. The other day my husband came into the house asking for my password to the computer, pretending to want to know because I keep it secret so the kids don't use the Internet whenever they want. There has always been one strange thing about my husband that I never allowed myself to acknowledge in the past. I have caught him in some lies but never confronted him about it. He thinks that I don't know some things.

Part of me thinks, don't be ridiculous, he's never done anything like that. The other part of me really wonders. I don't know how much of me is being paranoid.

He owns a gun. About a month ago I went into the garage (his garage, really, as it's filled with porn and other things that I've turned a blind to all these years). He apparently was doing something with it. I don't know what. I asked him what he was doing. He said he was emptying it. Who knows??

I don't know what to think of it. I don't know if he's got some kind of tracking on my computer where he can see everything I am typing, such as this. If he is, and if I KNEW he was, I would surely leave sooner than later. But how can I tell?

I don't know how much of my feeling is to believe or how much is imagination of what is possible. I think he lies, but most of the time have no proof.

Take the computer to your local best buy or a computer repair store and share you concerns with them. If it is there, they will find it.

whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse.

Unafemina, trust your instincts. They just might serve you well.

Have you taken the Mosaic Threat Assessment yet?

From everything I've read, spyware is very, very difficult to detect. PC World magazine did an article on it where they installed spyware on some of their computers and then used the top spyware detecting programs to try to detect and remove it. Most of them never detected the spyware. A couple did detect them, but not on every computer.

If there is spyware installed on your computer, undoubtedly he knows already that you suspect it and that you are looking to uninstall it. He also knows whatever you have already done on the computer that you don't want him to know about. So at this point, removing it, if that is even possible, would be pointless.
