liamacker"The part of my recovery plan that I would say made up 80% is MDJ. I suffered a lot prior to finding MDJ, felt alone and had no one to talk to who really understood me. In the Bipolar Group I found like minded individuals who I could relate to and who offered support to me when I needed it. As I recovered, I could then offer support to them which gave me a good feeling about myself. I have met some great people here who I would class as good friends and know I would still be in the slump I was in without them. Now I am stable, I know that MDJ plays an important part in keeping me that way. Thank you MDJ for being there for us all and making us no longer feel alone." (liamacker)

What's up with this discussion group?Edema doesn't KILL people...

I have edema aka swollen feet and ankles SUDDENLY since about April when weather started to be daily 90 degree plus

Yesterday I fasted, yet no difference

I do NOT have gout

I do NOT have thrombosis, no varicose veins

Yet compression socks are same thing or similar to diabetic socks?

I don't have diabetes, either...

I don't have high blood pressure

I have some numbing effects in legs-also piriformis syndrome which also affects back and legs so I had sonograms done of my feet and legs-nothing

I am overweight -gained 75#'s after head on car accident

I had several appts with neurologist

Last appt was for Nerve conductivity test, but after 1 shock I screamed in panic attack model get it off me, my blood pressure was so high, am sure, was shaking uncontrollably, sat up so fast, blood rushing to head, I was in shock per se and I physically ran out of office-apologizing to patients, dr and nurses on my way out, was frantic, scared, visibly upset, shaking like a leaf for over an hour after just 1 SHOCK on my GOOD LEG's ankle-I did manage to go back for results of other tests like mRI, sonogram but could nOT do that shock test again-was told children never reacted how I did

All I say is from own experiences, truthful from my point of view-I have positive outlook on life. I try to be helpful, am a good listener, am an outgoing people person.

I'm a Make-a-Difference person in that I do good deeds everyday, help others as I can..

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

I believe in the Serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

Smile, God loves you!

THINK POSITIVE...things could be WORSE!

Edema itself does not kill but the underlying problem that causes edema might!
