MDJunction to me

sarahtroy"There's a special place in my heart for MDJ's Bipolars dealing with Alcoholism support group. As an alcoholic in recovery, it is my safe harbor. I draw strength and hope from our Bipolar alcoholics and addicts who bravely share their experiences and courageously face our common demons. This is a special, close and safe group to explore any alcohol or drug issues. I have made many dear friends and been sustained by the love and acceptance so freely offered." (sarahtroy)

[i]I am so excited today. This is probably the first time in my life that I am starting the New Year understanding what makes me tick. It is just so clear! I have battled with DDRMBP for so long and have been in battle with myself for so long. Always asking.... what is wrong with me....... To keep this short I want to share with anyone that is a rapid cycler (sp?), and questions whether they also suffer from Alcholism, I am here to share that I was questioning too, for a very long time and when I found out I was diagnosed with RMBP, I figured ahhhhhhhh, thats it, I can drink now, except the Lithium wasnt working like we thought it should. I have been on Lithium for almost 2 years and I my sobriety date is 11.11.2007. It has been a short amount of time, but I tried AA in 1999 and was sober for 2 years... the only problem was I still wanted to kill myself, once a month..! Now... I can say, I feel normal, I don't know what normal is, yet I do know - IT FEELS GREAT! Hope this helps! Happy New Year and thank you for all your shares! Hi Neicey!

I like your post.

A lot of people don't get it, do they?

Attitudes, beliefs, reactions--we have to change those, or else abstinence and all the meds in the world won't save us.

Thanks, and keep comin' back, okay?

Regards,

Jim
