MDJunction to me

jpcrps"When I found MD Junction, I was in the beginning stages of RSD/CRPS. I was scared, lacked knowledge about the condition, and felt very alone.

MD Junction changed all of that for me. I found friendship and terrific information from people who had first-hand knowledge of this syndrome. It was and still is a big part of my life.

MDJ was my first step on the journey of grief; from denial to acceptance. I am now inspired to help others by sharing this amazing site and sharing my own experiences. I am very impressed that one forum site can provide hope and inspiration to people suffering from so many different conditions. I am proud to be a part of this community.

I haven't been hooked on any antidepressants but I wanted to say that usually if people are properly medicated with a mood stabilizer along with the antidpressant it doesn't cause the mania. I have almost always been on a mood stabilizer along with the antidepressant so I haven't had the mania, most of the time. I was less than honest with a GP once and didn't tell him I was bipolar, only told him I was depressed and needed Prozac so for 3 years I was only on the antidepressant. I was pretty manic or maybe hypomanic would be more like it. I can see how someone would like that and want it to continue. But if the medications are properly perscribed with a mood stabilizer and an antidepressant, the manias don't happen. Usually. I took Welbutrin for a long time, with a mood stabilizer. It worked great. It just stopped working after a year or so. (That's what happens with all meds with me, they stop working after a while.) So, I stopped taking it. It can be a very good med if perscribed properly. So can Prozac.

I believe if you are honest with you pdoc he can rx the correct meds. If you are using no meds are going to work correctly. My med combo has been switched many times but as long as I am honest with my shrink I trust in him that he will rx the correct meds and I take them as rx. This took me many years to get this in my head that this is what I need to do.
