GUIDELINES:

1) Stick to the topic. Off topic, crosstalk, or disrespect will be edited out of the thread--WITH or WITHOUT a warning, depending on the activity in the thread.

2) Each participant, with the exception of the chairperson, has one opportunity to comment until it appears that all have had a chance to say something. If you have more than one comment to make, please wait for the chairperson to invite "further comments" or "burning desires." The chairperson may comment more than once and at any time, in an effort to keep the meeting on topic and to summarize or emphasize the discussion.

(Any member may volunteer to chair the meeting, but in volunteering the member must commit to chair for the month and the chairperson must be dual diagnosed. Chairpersons may choose to give an opening speech or not, limiting such speeches to his/her own example of experience, strength, and hope.)

3) If you are addressing someone else's comment, please refer to the other person's ID in your own comment.

4) Members are advised to maintain anonymity, referring only to online ID's (theirs and those of others).

5) Each participant should use his/her MDJ profile page to describe his/her personal experience with dual diagnosis (BP WITH alcoholism, substance abuse, or addiction). See http://www.mdjunction.com/mem/2382 for an example.

(By using the profile page in this way, participants will not need to spend time giving such details in the meeting.)

6) Participants are advised to take personal dialogue, off topic discussions, and chat to the DUAL DIAGNOSIS LOUNGE

or to the private message system after the meeting.

7) The MDJ moderator has total discretion as to editing or deleting comments; and all objections, complaints, and rebuttals about the moderator's judgment should be addressed ONLY in private messages to the moderator.
