My eyes are so bad. I take Restasis at night and morning, another prescription drop (Ketrolac Tromethamine which burns like immensely!)and now I have to put a vaseline type gel in my eyes at night. My eyes still are horrible! I have another appt with my eye doctor for tomorrow morning. I can't stand how horrible my eyes feel. I do drink Kefir but not everyday. I guess I've never paid attention to see if the probiotics work. If I can remember, I will pay closer attention. Thanks for your idea....

I know this probably sounds too basic to work but have you tried warm water and salt? I've got dry eyes and I've got so many different liquids to put in, some work, some don't. But hands down the best thing will always be salt water. Just put a pinch of salt in warm water and stir until it's dissolved. Let it cool enough so that you can put it in your eye and flush it around.

That's just for dry eyes though, I don't know anything about celiac's sorry....

Hey all,

I have lived with dry eye for over 15 years (and I'm not even 40 yet). I thought I would share the things that I have found make it manageable.

1. Part of my issue is that I sleep with my eyes open just a crack. You can imagine that this doesn't do good things for my corneas. My eye doctor told me to tape them shut. Well, that doesn't work very well for multiple reasons. The biggest is that when you tape your eyes it puts pressure on your cornea all night. This distorts you...

Hey everyone, my name is Rebecca and I'm 16 years old. I have an autoimmune disease, and I think that's what's causing my dry eyes. I have contacts, but I can only wear them for a couple of hours. My eyes just suck up moisture. Does anyone know if they have contacts just for dry eye sensitivity? I use rewetting drops, but it only helps for a minute, and then they are dry again. Thank you! :)...

In the evenings, my eyes do this thing where they burn like crazy and start watering madly. It's driving me nuts because it always happens when I'm in the middle of a boss fight in a game or driving. I've been told it's because they're dry but I don't know what to do about it. I don't have the money to go see a doctor right now. Also I'd like to add that if my eyes are dry why do they water like mad? Ha ha. Anyway, thanks for listening....

Hello everyone,

First let me say what a neat group this is.

i wanted to ask if anyone is having severe dry eyes at night? I get severe dry eyes that began about 2 months ago. Several years ago this also occured but stopped, but now it is back. I will wake up about 4am with my lids glued to the eyeballs. The pain is pretty bad and I have to open the eyes very slowly. I mean dry as can be. My mouth at times is also parched.

Also do any of you have health issues connected to your dry...

The fluctuation could be due to what you have eaten. I found eating yogurt reduced the dry eyes. Others say taking EFA supplements help, as would eating salmon or other oily products. Keep track of your diet and see if you find any patterns....

Over the years, my eyes are getting drier. My Opth. suggested I start using eye drops several times a day to prevent damage. Previously I used maybe once a day. So I intentionally started using the OTC drops several times per day (4 to 6 times over 16 hrs) I had a collection of samples she had given me, and had purchased some at the store as well. After the second day, I started feeling a sense of vertigo. I did not relate that to the eye drops, but each day it kept getting worse. I thought abou...

They say there is no meds to help reduce the irritation but surgery is an alternative when it becomes to hard to bear.
