I am family/partner of someone I love very much who is addicted to crack. The past year and a half has been like watching a family member slowly die of cancer, which I have done. This past week has been the worst when he begged me for one last chance. I have tried to reach him, to save him, but I can't. I am grief-stricken because it's literally like dealing with a living death, an internal cancer which corrodes and corrupts internally and externally, affecting everything and everyone it touches. I desperately need some help/support/advice from others who have loved ones they can't stop loving and trying to help with the same ugly addiction--which turns them into Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde. Please share your experiences/wisdom. --JaneS |
