the life of an addict is not very complicated. have learned to live life a certain way. we became dependent on what would not go against our beliefs ... even if our beliefs were wrong. using drugs and booze starts out as fun... feeling goooood. most times its hiding from what is or was. it suppresses ill feelings. thats what we want to believe. we grew into particular mindset before we even did drugs. because of our past or present issues, many of us look for ways to cope. well, drugs do make you feel good for a short time. then you need more and more because you realize the issues wont go away. by this time hell, your hooked.

that being said, our way of thinking is never rational. feeling happy or positive about anything doesnt feel right. we are not used to such feelings. our mind is not allowing anything to change the way we think, simply because it does not find comfort with anything that goes against the grain of our mindset.

we tear down any positive thoughts because we have created the illusion that nothing good will ever come out of anything. even if we see it in front of our face. we still hold on to our negative ways. its how WE trained our selves to be.

when we feel uncomfortable about something or someone ... we remove our self and we typically make a big to do about how that person or something just messes us up. all the while only fighting one thing ..

THE WAY THINK

It is so true, you have to change the way you think, your outlook on life and even though at times its very hard, we need to think in a positive way. get rid of all the negativity around us, start the day w/ a plan, and once you start doing then the rest follows, Your outlook becomes more positive, It is not easy, especially w/ things that we have no control over. We have to make the best out of every situation and stop the negativity. so we struggle through the sadness, fight it, and somewhere down the line we will change, just don't let the problems in life overtake you. Deal w/ it head on, don't cover it up w/ drugs, don't just sit there and think everything is so bad, life is so hard. If we continue in our negative mind set nothing will change. We have to change.
