When you start to have the cravings, immediately think of something else. Also it would help tremendously if you went to NA and got a sponsor. THat way when you get cravings you can have someone to call up right then and talk to. You can do this. I've got faith in you.

go to the local churches, many of them have meetings or look it up on the internet, google for a place near you, Its hard doing it alone and get all the support you can to help you through this. Also if you get a craving write to us instead, get your mind off of it, Writing down your feelings is also theraputic. We are here to help and support you on your journey to get clean,

Trying n.a. Is good idea for sure.I'd suggest getting the n.a.book and reading it,I related with almost the whole book.when I stopped using I was to the point were I thought there was no point in trying to stop for I just kept going back to using, after using one form of drug to another for 25 years or so it was the only way of life I knew but I have found I don't have to use today and this is a miracle.it is possible but you have to want it.

Trapped, you go online. I think the website is www.narcoticsanonymous.org. Just google it if that is not right. Once you get to the NA website, there will be a place that says, "find a meeting near you." And you type in where you live and it will tell you where the closest meetings are to you. If you can't find it, let me know and I will find it for you!

Some call it the jumping off point.from here you can decide to really make a huge deffrance in your life if youso choose to do so. You don't have to use today.worry about tomorrow later.one day at a time.

I felt the same way, I couldn't even imagine a life w/o drugs and alcohol, How could I live w/o them. I have been using since I was a teen, it was my way of life, But I was so naive. Addiction becomes a nightmare, you are a slave to the drug, it contols your every move. Its the 1st thing you think of in the morning, its on your mind all day and the last thing you think of when you go to sleep, It totally consumes you. I relapsed so many times, it just took me a long time to finally stop, to finally see that there is life after drugs and alcohol, you don't need them to be happy, they are a quick fix and the problem will still be there when the drug wears off. The 2nd time I hit bottom, I almost died, when I got home from the hospital I knew I had to stop or it would kill me, but I still didn't want to, I was so afraid to face life w/o drugs and alcohol, What I realized is that eventhough I was in my mid 40s deep down I was still that little scared and insecure girl I was before I started drugs. I still had the same problems that I had as a teen, all I did all those years was hide behind the drugs so I wouldn't have to face my problems.

That is what you have to discover, why do you need the drug, what feelings are you trying to avoid, what are you running away from. Once you answer those questions you work to resolve the problem. We are here to give you the strength to do just that, to help you get through the path of recovery, even if you relapse, don't give up, just keep fighting, its hard, its very hard, but with support it can be done, Try NA meetings, that is where I started too. we will be here for you every step of the way, you just got to keep fighting and don't give up
