My boyfriend who is addicted to painkillers has really been trying the past few days to cut himself down on how many he takes hoping to quit this way... he has been doing great this past week but today he asked if he could borrow some money to get a few because he is as always broke until payday... I could easily loan him the money knowing that he is trying to quit but I said no because the other half of me feels that it is enabling to do that... and if he really wants to quit, he would get help for it.... I feel very guilty now and he immediately stopped talking and obviously upset about it... I am just at conflict with myself if things like this are helping or hurting the chances of him quitting?? |
