Hi I am Lisa and I am new. I am on methadone now, but was addicted to opiates due to chronic pain. I need help and don't know where to turn. Maybe someone can help. I lost my job 3 months ago. Can't get another because my credit is BAD. No, I am not joking. It's something new all businesses do now. They make you sign a release to check you're credit. I have 15 years retail management and have applied to atleast 30 places. Jobs were never a problem before. I checked with the EEOC and it is definitely discrimination, but what can I do. Now, my car tag is expired and I have no gas to leave the house anyway. I have sold or pawned everything I own, even family heilooms. It's devistating. I can no longer afford my medications. Almost $500.00 a month. I am on cymbalta and methadone. for those of you who have been on either of these..thet cause horrible withdrawals. I am going to face that now. I am hungry and thirsty..no food, even ran out of toilet paper. No telephone..couldn't pay. Computer will go soon too. What do I do, I have no way to contact anyone or anyway to get there. My car insurance will cancel soon too and my liscence will be suspended. I have nobody to help. I don't think I can do this anymore. I am even out of cat food...I can't lose them, they are all I have. God, sorry to ramble on, I know people are dealing with worse and eveyone has problems. I have never faced these before. How do you keep faith through all this. How do I go through the withdrawal sickness I face. I went through it before, but not off of methadone, which I hear is 10x's worse. I need help. what can i do. If anyone knows anything, where I can go for $$$help, please write me..wont have computer long. I am totally isolated and stuck here. I have never been so alone in my life. Family...yeah thats funny. Not mine. They won't or can't help, and don't understand..only hypocrites..anyway..please write me if you know how I can help..especially for my meds..one is an antidepressant..130.00 a month. Very bad withdrawals even with methadone. Nobody told me what it would do to me. Ofcourse methadone is very expensive. please somebody help...I cant do this..especially the pain. Somebody must have been through this. what do I do. Thanks to anyone..please write to L. Bonzar @ 550 Jacaranda street. merritt island Fl. 32952 thANKS Lisa...trapped in a house(well atleast until my rent is due..then who knows.....)hungry and scared!!!

Hi Lisa I was just reading your story there and really feel for you that is terrible that you can,t get a job cos of your bad credit my name is Lisa aswell and I am on methadone too I stay in Scotland and we don,t have anything like that hear if we are not working we get money of goverment to live each week it isn,t much but it is better than nothing and we also get our methadone free if we are not working, does your goverment not give you,s money to live on if you are unemployed? that is bad that you need to pay for your methadone when you are unemployed too I tried to come off 50ml of meth on Jan this year and I thought it was hell my partner has also had the same problem as me and he was still using but I had been of heroin for 1year before i tried to go cold turkey even though my partner was still using everyday and I ended up using after 2wks of been off the meth, can you not ask your drug worker to help you in someway so you can maybe get your meth free I know it is a long shot but trying is worth it as surely they would rather you were on methadone than heroin I am really shocked at how your country could leave you to strugglr that bad and that you can.t get a job cos of your bad credit what has that got to do with you having a job I have a bad credit rating aswell but I just cant seem to work out what the businesses are achieving out of doing this to people cos HOW exaclty are you ment to survive if you can,t get a job and the goverment don,t help you with money when you are unemployed it is such a shame your family and friends can.t help you out either but they ought to not be so judgemental on you we have all made mistakes in our lifes before but nobody deserves to live you like you are (in fact you are barely surving)I just hope there is someone on this site who may live were you live and can help you please Take care and hope you can get help from somewhere if you want to talk to someone just contact me anytime goodluck from Lisaxxx

Hi Lisa, I;m so sorry that you are not able to get a job because of your credit. Can you file for disability? You are on medication for reasons. You doctor might be able to help.

You can also try social services. They have insurance programs so you can keep your medications. They also have emergency funds for people who need food, money, and housing needs. They might know of other places for you to go in your area for help.

You could try a local church. They usually offer some type of help.

I have been on similar situations before. No money, no help from friends or family, no transportation, and my children depending on me. It is a difficult place to be. Try to have faith. It will all work out.

If there is anything more I can do, please Pm me. I will get back to you ASAP!!!! You're in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how you are doing.

Your Friend, Chris
