Hi! Well, my husband had a Cat scan this morning and immediately afterwords I received a phone call from our Doctor's office enlightening me of their findings, stating that it was "very bad". This was something that they were hoping would not come up on the cat scan, but it did. Now he is on a strictly clear liquid diet through the weekend, and on two very strong antiobiotics. He is doing well for the first night - his stomache is growling like crazy, but he hasn't eaten a thing! He was directed not to eat anything until Monday morning, when he has an appointment to follow up with our Doctor. Is this normal? And do people recover from "very bad" diverticulitis? My husband had been playing his excrutiating pain off to me as being mild, or light cramps in the lower abdomen. It's not until now that he is clearly diagnosed with having this problem that he is enlightening me of how he REALLY feels and how much pain he is REALLY having to deal with! I'm scared for him. I know he's scared too. What is the cause of this? How can we prevent this from happening again? |
