Hello,

I am new here. I'm just trying to get some information to see if my symptoms are indicative of Diverticulitis. I starting having pain in my pelvic are on the left side two days ago. It got progressively worse, to the point where it hurt to move or walk. It is also extremely tender if I push on that area. I went to the ER yesterday and my white blood cell count was elevated. The made me drink some radioactive stuff, then gave me an IV with more radioactive stuff and did a CT scan. The doctor came and told me that I had "colitis". I asked if it was diverticulitis and he said they didn't see any diverticula, but that didn't mean that it isn't diverticulitis. I thought diverticultis was easy to see on CT scan??? They gave me cipro and flagyl (ugh). I took it last night and this morning and my pain is not any better. Historically, I have constipation pretty often, and diarrhea occasionally, but I wouldn't consider either of those to be a real problem. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I have never had pain like this to where I can't even stand up straight. I had appendicitis as a teenager, and it felt just like this, only on the opposite side. Please help! It's awful. I'm only 47, I thought I was too young for this disease.
