MDJunction to me

Sylvia4648"I have suffered from depression most of my life, but had some long, non-depressed times. The last 16 years have been an on-going, constantly worsening nightmare for me medically, socially and with my family. 11/2008 to the present has been the worst time in my life, and new things just keep piling up. During that time I’ve gone from being mostly homebound to being totally homebound due to the errors of about 2 dozen doctors who overmedicated me so badly that I came home w/ 4 conditions I didn’t go in with. I spent months wanting to die, and finding MDJ may well have saved my life. It’s one of the worst feelings to know that nobody on earth needs you for anything; but now that I’ve been a group leader for awhile, there are people here who need me. Thanks MDJ." (Sylvia4648)

This is an anything goes thread. Just gossipy how life is going for you stuff. Housework stuff. Pictures of your cat in a dress stuff. Anything.

For example my personal fairly irrelevant but fun to me current event is that I am babysitting my cousin's kids for the summer. On the one hand they can be great fun, great company. On the other hand they each have a violent temper where the other is concerned. So it's nutty.

So that's the first part of the deal, that you can talk about anything you want. The second part of the deal is that it is a contest and whoever posts last wins always. So right now I win but all it takes for you to win is to post anything to this thread, anything at all.

Anyone care to take me down?Cool

My daughter had surgery 2 weeks ago and is still having problems so they are going to refer her to another specialist. I went back to work today after being off for 2 weeks and it made me realize how much I hate my job. Time at home goes by so fast but time at work drags on and on. I got a call at work today saying that I forgot to pay a bill last week and my house is a mess. Sometimes I don't even know what day of the week it is, much less what the date is. I need to de-stress (un-stress?)

mik4284 you are competitive! Two posts!Grin

mik42854 I am sorry about your son and how it sort of paralyzed you for a bit. I am sure bit by bit you will undig and get back where you were or better. Feel free to share your little triumphs, even something minor like a cleared out drawer, and we can cheer you on.

Debdek sorry that your daughter's recovery isn't going smoothly. As far as your house goes I'd say little bits at a time and it will get where you want it. Sorry you find yourself not liking the job. That's major.

As for me, I am training for a 5K in September and had been off my regimen at first from a sprained toe then from simple inertia. I woke up early to run and was sick to my stomach so I didn't. I have to get back on the ball or September is going to come and I am not going to be ready!

Later this morning I am going to the beach with my son(3), my cousin, the kids she babysits for(18 months, 3, 6) and her children (8,10). Should make for an interesting day.

Woo-hoo! I am the winner again! I had no idea I was so competitive.Laughing All you have to do to knock me out of the winners circle is post, about anything!

Okay, I'm game. I haven't posted in a while so it's time I checked in.

My kitchen is only okay; I didn't clean up after dinner last night so I have to take care of that. I did, however clean up yesterday before I cooked and did the floors. My kitchen was spotless for about 32 hours before I made dinner.

My dining room is almost as bad as it was prior to getting it completely clean.

On a more positive note, my laundry is down to one load, thanks to me wanting to play with new Electrolux washer and dryer. I just love them, they are as heavy duty as you find in the laundromat, front loading for both and I was finally able to wash my large comfortors, including the king-size without having to go to the laundry mat.

Hurray!

I am also facing the kitchen and bathroom. On the laundry front, I don't currently have enough dirty laundry to do even a small load. I really need to get moving for today; it's off to the grocery store for me.

As far as toys, my kids are grown now, but when they were small, I just dumped everything into one large toy box that we bought at Toys R Us. The kids tore all the toys apart anyway when they were all "organized" so organization made little difference. Don't make it harder than it needs to be. Even a couple of heavy duty totes with lids will work. Clean up is quick and you just stack them in a corner.

colleen I am jealous about your laundry being caught up. I have very little to wash but a ton to fold and put away. I never get stuff put away!

mik4284 I hear you about too many toys. My three year old has too many. I even had help organizing his toys (there is an article about it above) but he still just has too much and yet what to get rid of? He plays with all of it.

I am being completely lazy and naughty for dinner tonight. I have to feed us super healthy now because my husband has been diagnosed as diabetic with high blood pressure. Well tonight he is not home so my son and I are having mac and cheese and grapes. Yum! And easy!

mik if you got a break don't use all of it for cleaning! Use some of it for you!

So my husband and I owned a dinner theater and improv troupe for three years. Now we are taking that group public so to speak. Turning it into a non-profit and having a board and all that. Total make-over.

And the board is all coming here at seven to do all the business stuff. And of course I am not ready. Just my dining room is ready and even in there I am washing the table cloth!

At least I am winning on this thread!Grin

Until someone else postsTongue ....

Our adult son has moved out & boy do we miss him. We loved having him here with us for 3 yrs. I have been cleaning ever since! Wow, so NOT me. Bathroom is spotless & kitchen is ok too. It has dawned on me that I was not running the sweeper for fear of disrupting son while he was working, he is a cyber agent that works from home.

17 yr old grand daughter is pregnant! Daughter is driving herself nuts over it. Hubby is retiring in Sept! Not enough $$$ to live on though.

All in all, inspite of myself, hanging in there. I have become a bonified android addict!!! Posting from cell phone, ha ha, lol . Next task is washing ALL curtains in the house but not in any hurry. It can hold for a while...this is getting to be too long of a post so I will shut up for now.

Kelti long time no see!!!! I was wondering about you just the other day. Sounds like your world is pretty busy, no wonder you haven't been around!

mik glad you took time for you. I think thriftstore shopping rocks. It doesn't count as hoarding if you bought things for organizing!

I can't believe I am home and posting right now. I took the two kids I babysit and my son to the beach and the kids kept fighting. Finally I told them if they fought one more time we were leaving, and they did. They always try to call my bluff!

Lucky for them I have a pass that is unlimited. If I had paid $8.00 to get in I would have killed them. We lasted an hour and a half. The only way I got them to behave on the way home was to threaten computer privileges. I think their mom let's them get away with bloody murder on the weekend because I always have to be a hard@$$ on Monday to get through to them. Last week on Monday I had to do 3 15 minute time outs. It took 45 minutes to get out of my driveway.

Ok I am rambling even for a post what you want thread. But argh! These two. If I didn't need the money I'd quit this babysitting job so fast!

It only gets worse! Got them I felt sufficiently punished and calmed down and walked to the park only to have them fight again so get home and separate them and then get a card game going only to have them fight again. I think agreeing to do this was a mistake but now my husband doesn't want to part with the money.

This is going to be the worst summer of my life!
