Hello and welcome to the group! Most of us started with trying to clean one thing and keep it clean. Then add something else. I started with kitchen and this pattern just snowballed into the main floor of my house. I'm working a little bit at a time with my basement and upstairs. I am committed to keeping it clean.

Good luck to you as you start a new way of life.

Hi Dit!

Thanks for introducing yourself and welcome to D&M!!

Colleen is right. Most of us seemed to have settled on a conquer and keep it claimed approach. It can be helpful to post your goal and get feedback. Sometimes just knowing that it is out there in the 'cyberverse' that you were planning on finishing something is a great motivator. Plus the congrats when you succeed are nice.

One big focus for me has been clutter. I have been trying to get rid of anything that is not used or loved. I do this by determining an area to be decluttered and deciding how long I am spending on decluttering for that session. Then I use three bags, boxes or piles: Give Away, Put Away and Throw Away. I set a timer and move as fast as I can pulling things out and putting them in the correct category.

When I am done I put away the Put Away, toss the Throw Away and drive the Give Away to the thrift store. (I live less than a mile from one, if I lived further I might store stuff in my trunk until Give-Away day but I would set a day so I didn't just end up with a cluttered trunck!)

Sorry. I ramble. In any case, welcome! We look forward to cheering you on as you work from Disorganized and Messy to Organized and Clean.

Thank you for the warm welcome centerseeker and Silverclaw, I appreciate both your tips.

Clutter is the 'Big' word for me i live in it. I need to first of all focus on my bedroom, i plan to work on sorting my clothes, then cleaning my dresser and vaccuuming my room, this is my first goal.
