Hi all,

I want to make a goal of at least 15 minutes a day of cleaning (even if I work all day and I'm tired.) Ok, because I haven't done anything all week and it's now Thursday, I'm going to do the laundry, empty the dishwasher, fill the dishwasher and get the recycling and garbage out. It may take more than 15 minutes, but all these things really need to be done. I'm posting here so that I'll make myself do it!! Maria

You can do it!

And it is amazing what you can do in 15 minutes so you may see some huge improvements just adding that to your routine.

All right, it took me 40 minutes, but the laundry is in the dryer. The trash and recycling is out (I even cleaned my cat's litter box). The dishwasher has been emptied and refilled. Mission accomplished!!! Smile Smile Smile

Thumbs up! You go girl!! Be tough and you will do well.

I just wanted to suggest to commit yourself not only to a minimum amount of time, but also to a maximum.

I find it even more important then the minimum because the whole thing is simply a game of power between us and our mind. We procrastinate cleaning because our mind remembers that last time it took us an hour to do just the kitchen and an hour just laundry so this time we are afraid to even begin cleaning thinking it would take us hours, so we might as well just finish reading the paper or watching a TV show first. Then we get tired and decide to do it tomorrow. Our chances of doing it are much higher if we know for certain that after 40 or so min we will stop no matter what. It's not easy to stop, you will see, but we want to succeed next time forcing ourself to stop when time is up is crucial. I usually commit myself to 15 min or so, then take a break and decide whether or not I want to take another 15 min. Hope you find this helpful Smile

I'm still working on the office but my kitchen is damn near sparkling clean. I have to roast a turkey breast that I took out of the freezer 2 days ago; I think it's finally thawed. There goes the kitchen. I am going to make an effort to clean as I go because I am also stuffing the breast and I know what kind of mess I'm in for.

I forgot which thread I had posted to so I started a new one. My turkey is stuffed and in the oven. As for my kitchen, it is clean!
