My son who is now 5 1/2 years old was diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome at birth. He had a submucosal cleft palate, low T cells, and no thymus gland. Despite the lowered T cells, he was a remarkably healthy baby! It was as he got older, there was no speech and his developmental milestones were way behind children his age. He has received early intervention at age 2, and has been in the Intensive Language Program (full time M-F) at our school district since age 3. He also gets additional speech therapy once a week. He talks now, but seems very immature for his age, and sometimes just doesn't seem to "get" certain things. I feel like I am not doing enough for my child and feel guilty every day. I need some advice on what kinds of therapies, treatments (or anything!) that I can give him. Please help.
