hello everyone-

i just wanted all of you to know that i am doing so much better than i was when i first got home- i am now 4 weeks out post surgery and feeling like i am getting a bit stir crazy- but i have bought myself 2 new books to read and man!! time is flying for me now.

just a update on my sugars- i am so proud of myself- they are back to my normal range- and i had not gotten any insuling shots nor did i get any meds while recoverying or in the hospital.

i get to see the dr on this friday for a update and am hoping that i get some restrictions lifted- as i am tired of relying on others for help in recovering.

i just thought i would say hello and let everyone know that i am doing okay and back in my normal range of numbers for sugars...............

Hugs Katrina, so glad to hear that you are doing so great, I am sure you are getting a bit of cabin fever, but not to fear those days will be coming to a end soon, and then you can get back to running around and doing your walking...

we're glad you are back with us..

Hi Katrina,

I'm so proud of you for keeping your sugars so controlled through all of this. I know that stir crazy feel. when I had my hysterectomy I had 6 books lined up for my recovery. I thought that would last the majority of my six week recovery time. I finished them in 1&1/2 weeks! My co workers sent books home for me to keep me occupied. Good luck at the doctors since your doing so well I'm sure you'll get some new freedoms. Just remember to take them slow you are still recovering.

snoopy30-

thank you for the words of courage- i sure do need them now- long story but i have been an absolute faucet here in the last 2 days- it seems that i cannot stop crying for no apparent reason- and to make matters short- i have created some problems here at home- but enough of that-

i am very very proud of my sugars as that is what scared me in the first place- but - after arguing with the hospital- i feel so much better- long story but the stay at the hospital was not a good one- they kept telling me that they had nothing on the floor for diabetics- and they kept bringing me white things- potatoes- crackers- rice stuff that i know i cannot do- so i was not a happy person that way- but - its done with and i am still learning about taking care of my self and to say the least- i am trying-

but thank you everyone for the thoughtful words...................very much appreciated.

Hey Katrina, you have been through a lot over the past couple of weeks or so, it is natural that you would be very sensitive right now, give yourself some time..

Hey Sunshine welcome to the group, life can be challenging being a diabetic, but it doesn't have to seem impossible.. what kinda tips do you need? I am sure that someone here has advice for you, how long have you had your diagnosis..?

Katrina,

this ones for you. When I had my hysterectomy they found alot of endometriosis. because of that they won't start hormone replacement right away they wanted to be sure all that tissue disloved first. So about a week or so after the surgery when my hormones were very out of wack my husband left to do some errands. he took my daughter with him leaving my son home. Well even though he was a baby he was over my lift limit and I could not pick him up. He became very crabby and needed a nap but wouldn't settle down. So I finally got on the floor and while playing and tickling him I actually rolled him down the hall to his room propped him on my shoulder to put him in his crib. Well it took me two tries be cause he got uop and ran on me the first time. I felt like such a horrible mom. I couldn't even care for my son. Well in walks my husband and daughter. My daughter is carring a cup from Burger King. so I asked my hubby what did you bring me for lunch. and he says nothing we went earlier before shopping. I bust out in tears. I balled for over 15 minutes OVER BURGER KING!!!. All I could do was sob "It's not you it's the hormones" my husband was looking at me like I was crazy. The point of this very long story is 1. to give you a laugh, but 2. and most importantly to let you know this is VERY normal to be feeling this way. Even if they have put you on replacement therapy all ready it takes time for you body to adjust and you may need to have your dose adjusted a few times before they find what works for you. I know it can be difficult when your family doesn't understand, Try talking to your husband let him know not only is this temporary but it is normal and that you need him to help you with the kids emotional until you are more yourself. I hope this at least brought a smile to your face. Hang in it will get better I promise

Karen
