our daughter,[ lead foot ]Tina had a terrible crash and totaled her car. dr. says muscle relaxers 3 times daily and rehab therapy need. this was her THIRD crash but MOST serious! seeing her there on that gurney in the hospital frightened me TERRIBLE!

driving in torrential rain storm, too fast [ and she's a professional driver like me ! schoolbus ] with bad tires. went to turn into intersection, hydroplaned and spun out, regained control just in time to slam head first into an oncoming car in the OPPOSITE lane!

third at fault crash and on probation. waiting to see what DMV does and see if insurance gets dropped like last time.

not to worry though, when i have something to say or share,i'll be around.

i have the forum on my rss reader google reader so i keep up with the postings

Hugs Earle, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter please post and let us know how she is doing,.

Its amazing how even professional drivers don't listen to what they are taught, I was at work this evening, just coming back from lunch, and a truck was slowing for the red light, and the car behind him, was speeding and tailgating, slammed into the back of the truck, pushed the bumper into the middle of the engine, the ambulance showed up so I am sure they went to the hospital..

Please do let us know.. our prayers are with you.

Carmen & Snoopy:

thank you

re:truck crash:

wadda ya want to bet it was the TRUCK driver's fault for not having brake lights !

i warn at LEAST 1 driver per day,5 days a week and never the same driver twice,52 weeks a year,20 years.

add THAT number up ! and there are at LEAST 6 more [ per day ] i am unable to warn.

This truck had lights, as I remember seeing his tail lights prior to getting out of my car, your right about folks not checking their lights to see if they work, I do mine both headlights and tail lights at least once a week.. generally I use the side of a building..lol, you would not believe it took me over a year to stop, stopping at rail tracks..

when you shop, look in your rear view mirror as you go to park the vehicle. usually...the store windows are pretty near ground level giving you an excellent view of your brake/tail lights.

good time to check the direction light as well.

i don't think folks here bother to stop at rail tracks, least i've never seen anyone but schoolbuses do that

lol, that was my problem, having been a driver for over 3 years, I was accustom to stopping for the tracks, opening the door to listen as well as look for trains.. it took me quite a while to stop doing that, got some seriously strange looks when I would stop behind a track, and there was no one in front of me..

Living in the country most of the roads out here are pitch black at night, street lights are few and far between if there are any, I check the rearview mainly for the blinkers, you can see the light flickering, you can tell to if the brake lights are working from the added brightness,

Even now, I still do the three way check on the mirrors every couple of minutes..

all public transportation vehicles are REQUIRED BY STATE LAW to stop look & listen at tracks but not many do. schoolbuses yes, others no.

btw:

Tina is back to work but VERY sore at end of day. she's getting P.T. after her school runs
