Hi,im new here and really hoping to get advice and help. Im 27 and i have  been getting reactive hypoglycemia since i was young. had 2 pregnancies where it became progressivly worse. I also have pcos. Im very slim,underweight.

My symptoms are

-blurred vision,fatigue,aching arms,excessive drowsyness,cant concentrate after most meals if containing carbohydrate

-fatigue,angry irritable 2-3 hours post prandial

this is massivly effecting my life,i measure my bloodglucose daily- here is an example:

2 large eggs with small 30 g bowl poridge with ground flaxseed

Fasting- 4.4

30 min postprandial- 6.7mmol

1 hour postprandial - 8.2

1hr30 postprandial- 5.3

2 hour pp- 4.2

2hr 30 pp - 3.5

3 hr pp- 2.9

Crunchynut cornflakes

Fasting- 3.8mmol

30 pp- 5.8

1hr pp- 9.8

1.30 pp- 8.2

2pp- 6.6

2.30pp- 4.3

3 pp- 3.1

Glucose tollerance tests october 2010

0hr-bg4.4mmol-  insulin 2.2mu/l - c peptide 323pmol/l

30min- bg5.4- insulin 14.9-

60- bg10 - insulin 37.2- cpep 2088

90- bg8.9- insulin 30.8-

120-bg7.3- insulin30.6- cpep-2109

150-bg7.2-

180-bg5.5- insulin 24.2- cpep 2177

hs C reactive protein 2.16 (above 1.70 mg/l high)

Erythrocyte sedimentation rate 24mm/h ( should be bekow 15)(shows high inflamation)

I have so many more results if you need anything you feel can help.

I have 2 young children and finding it very hard and just want answers.

This happens after you have eaten carbohydrates. If you change from 3 meals regular-sized a day to 6 small ones, you will ingest fewer carbs at one sitting and it possibly won't be as bad. Also, you need to be careful of sweets. They cause the sugar to rise and then fall too quickly.

I'm sure the others will have other things to tell you that will help.

Hello & welcome to the group!

I totally agree with Violet. The only thing I would add is see a dietitian. They work wonders in helping you control your sugar levels by using food to control your blood sugar levels or can help you plan a menu to help you go along with any oral medications (or insulin) you may be using.
