i was told in the very beginning when i first joined about the name of a test someone had on there gallbladder. i really need to know what it is called. all of the other tests for the gall bladder i had done never showed anything. but all of my symptoms keep leading me to gallbladder when i do searches. and i know i told you about all the issues i had with that surgeon who put me through test after test in 04' and found nothing with my gallbladder. but swore that it was. and yes i now know that dd is a big huge part of it. but something is definitely wrong with my gallbladder as well.

Hi Dawn, the gallbladder test you are reffering to is a gamma-scan of the gallbladder. This test is ususally done at a hospital as outpatient. First you are fasting, then you are placed under the scanner to locate your gallbladder, then you are given an injection of something that is radio-actively tagged. This is to make your galbladder fill and the radio-activity is picked up by the scanner so they can watch it fill. You lay under the scanner for what seems like 2 hours?. You can see your glabladder filling. They are timing how long it takes to fill, Then you are given a really creamy tasting drink. This drink will trigger your galbladder to empty. Again, they are watching and timing the gallbladder to see how long it takes to empty. If it is too slow, you have a non-functioning or hypo-functioning gallbladder. It probably needs to be removed if you have this.

Hope this is the info. you were looking for. Hugs to you, Celeste.

Celeste, I just knew you would know! You are our medical test expert!!! I had mine removed almost 30 years ago. (After my son was born.) I think I just had the standard upper GI and they could tell. I probably had stones. Can't remember - just remember the pain was HORRID!!!!

Hugs,

Diane

okay thank you celeste. but isn't that the same thing as the hida scan?

cause i had that. along with all of the other tests for gallbladder.

and they found nothing. but then was in 2004. when the surgeon swore something was wrong with my gallbladder and found nothing.

but i am seriously thinking something is wrong with it. i read about the gastroperesis and i had every single symptom. but yes it could just be part of ibs and dd. who knows. the only thing i don't have is the diabetes. that is it. i had everything else.

i haven't been asleep since monday morning between being sick with the sinus's and then this pain and crap acting up again i am just so tired and really don't want to deal with everything anymore. i'm missing my best friend who moved in september. and i haven't heard from him since. and my other best friend is getting ready to have her 3rd stent put in her heart. on the 17th and that worries me to death. she almost died when they cut her the 2nd time.

my hubby is getting laid off most likely next week. and i don't and can't work so things are going to be even harder. and yes i do suffer from depression but i promise i am taking my meds. i just don't know if i can take all of this anymore.

but thank you celeste

Hey Dawn!

We've all been there and we all still go there once in awhile. I had a bad day yesterday. That's when you get on here and talk to US cause we're your new DD friends! Smile Pain doesn't help and the shorter and colder days don't help and you've got 3 big other things hanging over your head.

Have you ever sold on ebay? Celeste and I are both sellers. I know a couple of men who have been selling since they got laid off and it has helped with the bills. You will find a way. And hopefully the end is in site for layoffs.

I wish somebody could come up with something to make you sleep! That just cannot be helping any of this!

You're in my prayers. Here's a big hug!!

Diane

no i have never sold on ebay. i really don't even know how to. i don't even know that i have anything worth selling on their. i thought about doing avon sales. but at the same time no one around here that i know can really afford to buy something so it won't be worth my time. i do need to find something though. i have a chance to baby sit but it isn't all the time. it may only be 1 or 2 times a month. and it won't really give me but 40.00 maybe. do any of you know like which internet based work you can really trust

I buy a lot of stuff at thrift stores and sell it on ebay. Sounds like Avon might not be the best way to go. I know you can have an Avon web page but I don't know if that helps any unless you have people who would use it. (My sister-in-law has one.) I have a blog with Google adsense but it only very slowly gets money cause you have to have people click on the ads to get paid and I am getting horrid at not writing on it! Way too much going on!

Start with the babysitting and pick up what you can.

Take care,

Diane

Dawn, your symptoms sound just like mine. I have gastroparisis and I take a medication I order from Canada as it is not available here in the US. It is called Domperidone and is a prescription. It is used for seizures in Canada, but it works for well for a stomach that will not empty, like mine. I was told about it and I get the prescription from a GI specialist at the UofMN. Funny thing, first my gallbladder wouldn't empty (had it removed), now my stomach won't empty, and my liver has completly filled with fat and is not working properly. If I get even just a cold, my liver tests go wacky. I was told that this is all related to metabolic syndrome and was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome, but I am also not a diabetic!

I don't know if a gamma scan is the same as a hinda scan. See if you can find out--google it.

I am so sorry to hear of your friend having so many surgeries on her heart. I will pray for her to have a safe surgery and quick recovery.

Yes, Diane and I both sell stuff on ebay to help make ends meet. It is a nice thing to do since when I feel fatiqued, I can just stop and lay down for awhile. I can do just a little each day or none at all if I feel ill. It helps fill in when a high heat bill comes, or if I want to meet a friend for lunch I have a little loose change. I hope your husband finds work quickly. Layoffs suck! Sounds like you have alot to think about. Just take it one day at a time. Diane and I are usually here on the site almost everyday. We are here for you. Celeste.

Aunt Dawn...I had a test for gastric emptying just a few months ago and I was OK. My diabetic doctor sent me. It was nothing. You just stand in front of a machine every 15 minutes for a minute or two. They first feed you some yucky soup with some type of xray stuff in it and watch the progress thru your digestive tract. I don't know how accurate it is as I have severe IBS. That day I just happened to be feeling OK so the stuff went through me fine. My daughter had her gall bladder out. She thought she was having a heart attack and they did it right away. If yours gets bad you will be in a lot of pain..unbearable pain. I'm so sorry about your friends. I am posting something on our lounge page that may help. I am thinking of you. Try not to worry too much. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! Hugs, Grandma Sylvia

when you do ebay you sell things that you own right? that is what i am worried about cause there isn't really anything that i have that i can sell.

and as far as the stomach issue that i am having right now. is that in 2004 when the dr. was thinking something was wrong with my gallbladder. what they did find was that i had non alcoholic fatty liver disease. but i also have had a pancreatitis like 10 times. and the pain is worse in the early morning hours than any other time of day. but it is so bad that i am about to just say nathan take me to e.r. but i won't cause we can't afford it. it starts around 4 or 5 am and doesn't stop until after 10 am. but then i also have hmm am i pregnant. question riding over me because we are still trying. but the stomach thing is the only thing i have at this time. and then i wonder if maybe it's the meds i am on right now for my sinus infection. i just don't know.
