Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been around much. I guess I don't have to explain to any of you how much the pain and fatigue takes away from your life. But I would like to ask a question. Do any of you also suffer from Lupus? I have some symptoms that could be Lupus and I'm wondering if there may be a connection between it and Dercum's. Just thinking.....

Thanks, and have a good weekend!

Teri

look up dr. karen herbst & ask her.

She may have the answer.

I recon there could well be a connection, kike many other symtoms which have been diagnosed, other than dercums.

Thank you Sigrid. My doctor has been emailing Dr. Herbst, so maybe she'll be able to get an answer. Both my doctor is new to Dercums ~ she never heard of it before ~ so she's learning everything she can. I was really blessed to find her!

Have a good weekend.

I wish I had a doctor as enthusiastic as ur doctor.

Please thank her for me, for showing an interest & for connecting with Dr. Karen!

I'm so pleased we are making some headway.

I started my dercums drive some time ago.

At first, things were really slow.

Now there are several groups thanks to my campaign.

Sue Grimshore is a great advocate, who has partnered with Susan Smith.

If u need any information, just go into Gooles.

Also, if u type my name into googles u will see more info!

I wish u love, healing & success in being able to cope with this very debilitating & painful disease.

Nothing like a hot bath to relieve the pain.

Go straight to bed & try to relax & have a sleep.

Make ur family aware just how much this disease affects every aspect of ur life.

U need all the support u can get!

The less stress, the better!

God bless u & I shall keep u in my prayers!

Love & hugs,

Sigrid.

Thank you Sigrid. I am a extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Rowles. I must have spent 5 or 6 years (once I knew about Dercum's) trying to get a doctor to listen to me. I think most doctors believe it's all in your head. I had one doctor look it up in an old medical book and all he said was "yeah, it looks like what you have". And that was it. Another one told me she hesitated diagnosing me because she didn't have a treatment. I said "I already know you don't. I just need validation that this is real and not 'all in my head'". It's frustrating to know more about an illness than your doctor does.

I hope one day I can help educate the public about these rare illnesses that are destroying our lives.

Gentle Hugs,

Teri

Hi Teri,

Did I tell u about my collection of DD sufferers stories?

If u would like to add your story, I am behind in getting my book printed.DERCUMS DISEASE, WHAT IS IT. I also want to change it to Dercums Syndrome.

Here are some guide lines for sharing ur story.

You can email ur story to me on

love_charity@hotmail.com

Guidelines;-

1. First noticed a lump, & what age.

When did u notice you were a lot more tired than u felt u should be?

2. How hard was it to get diagnosed & how did u? & your feelings of frustration & how many doctors u had to see before finding a symapthetic ear.

How did u find out about DD, & other associated effects.

Are you married, how many children how old are you etc.

Just a bit of a backgrond.

3. Have u had any trauma, like special traumatic events which had a great effect on u.

4. how has DD affected ur intimate/family relationships.

Incl, sexual.

How & what are u doing to cope with the constant pain & has it changed ur sleeping pattern?

The only thing published, is ur first name & the state u come from or country.

Almost all of our stories are the same or very similar.

join me on FB, as there are many sufferers & we communicate regularly.

Male as well as females.

Young & old.

Take care & I'm happy for u that u have found a caring doctor!

Tell her we need more of her type!

Love & hugs,

Sigrid.

Have her doctor's ever said if there's a possible connection? I wonder if they've ever even thought of it. Thanks Jfuller!!

Hugs,

Teri
