Peeps..read the article mentioned above. It is great to take to your doctors. DD is indeed one of the most painful conditions people can have. Print! Hugs, Grandma Sylvia

There are days when I agree with this article however, I wonder where this got there supporting research. I have googled "top 10 most painful conditions" and all I got was this article. I can think of at least one thing that I have that trumps DD pain and it isn't on the list. All I'm saying is I'd like to see their metrics on this.

Yes, I agree and think the article would be much more helpful with supporting document info. Also, as with anything else in life, it depends which stage you are at with Dercums - the advanced stages are obviously much more painful that the beginning of symptoms. Still, I found the article encouraging and appreciate anything that gets Dercums into the public awareness.

I feel so validated by these articles. I must be at some advanced level because the pain that I feel is mind numbing and completely disabling at times.

However the overall will to live and my complete faith in God trumps the pain and somehow I live another day.

I have my sense of humor still intact and so I will be sharing with everyone the fact that I am on not one, but two top ten lists. Wow. I feel special.

Hang in there my fellow Derkies! And keep on posting. Feeling understood is also something that helps me cope.

Really interesting that they found it at all! I am so glad for that, and for the fact that it is being recognized for what it is -- terrible pain, debilitating illness.

Peeps..it is just wonderful that we are finally getting some validation of our pain. I love this article. Patroit1 I will try to find out more about who wrote it and how they found us. This is exactly the type of public exposure we need. Thanks ChristLeoS for a better link. I am excited to see a giant leap in increasing awareness of DD. Our hard work is starting to pay off! We all need to keep telling our medical professionals about DD and giving DD info to them to read. I will be using this article along with the new brochure as soon as it is ready to send to my doctors. ChloeFM and Lumpysoftee..I am so sorry that you are in such pain. I send you compassion and understanding. You are not suffering alone. Hugs, Grandma Sylvia
