I'm glad to be back and the removal surgery has helped with the pain so far. I did have a couple of sharp pains from lipomas that were not removed, and the ones that were removed still ache (but it may just be healing pains)... so far so good! I hope I am one of the lucky ones who don't have regrowth and more pain.

I hope that they can help you. If not Jennifer, you can always get diagnosed at least from my doctor and take the diagnosis back with you. Sounds like a nice Christmas trip. LOL. If you do ever come up let me know. I would love to get together.

Suri, I understand your need to worry. I am worrying big time right now with the chest lumps. I don't know where to begin counting these things. My breasts are riddled with them. That is why I am having the mammogram. I don't even know if they will show up on there.

I know what you mean. It is easy to worry about all the pain. How could you not? I wish that both of you would be able to find a doctor who at least is willing to find out more information about DD. It frustrates me when they put us through all kinds of extra tests and pain when all they have to do is go back to the old way of diagnosing us and just read and use their hands and eyes. I think that is part of what is wrong with our health system. The easiest way for them is to pass you along or submit you to needless tests before they will actually have to READ. It amazes me that they just don't want to read first.

I wanted to let you know that dercums lumps are sometimes not seen by ct scan since they are fat. Those machines are made to look through fat. I wanted to make sure that you knew that. There is no real test for dercums. It basically is following certain patterns and the fact that you have painful fat nodules.

There was NOTHING on the CT scan! I am FURIOUS! Why did they make a follow up appt with me? I made him show me the CT scan. He said I just had subcutaneous fat and nothing more. I have cried since my doc's appt. this afternoon. I am SOOOO frustrated! I called Dr. Jack Arbiser's office at Emory in Atlanta to schedule an appt. regarding Dercum's diagnosis but the first available appt is May 4th! I also emailed Dr. Ben Treen's office, so will see what happens with that! I am glad to read that they will not show up because I was starting to believe I really AM crazy. You have seen the lumps though! Those are not made up...unless I shoved some balls underneath my skin..just for fun, I guess! GRRRR!
