Hi everyone,

previously have said i would be on prozac again. Hm im quite concern that this time round it took prozac longer to work for me.....over a month's time. is it normal? actually, i do feel less depressed but not as good as the first treatment doses years back.

any idea why?

Hey it is good to hear from you..If it has been years since you took it that might be why it took so long and did not work as good..Your system might have changed or maybe it is just taking longer to get in your system this time..If it is helping that is a good thing if not working like you want there are others you can try..At different points in our life our body changes that could make the difference.Good luck our friend. Keep us posted..

Hello. My psychiatrist is trying me on something new with fluoxitine. It is called deplin. She said some people have a problem processing folic acid and this is a synthetic folic acid. Folic acid is involved in seratonin production. If you don't have enough seratonin, no matter how much prozac you take it only keeps what you have in your system it doesn't make more. This med is new and not covered by my insurance, but I have noticed a difference. Good luck. ps I have also found generic fluoxitine to be less effective than prozac. But my insurance wont pay for the brand name.
