It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Hi We discussed this some, I have been on 2 other sites where we did the same. They were pain sites. I did come up with the idea then but let someone else start it.

I think I would like to start this one and together we can help each other.

Basically healthy eating.

Easy Guide lines, like we dont say how much we weigh on weigh in day, just how much we lost or gained in some cases.

Goal just 1 pound a week, I know that sounds easy, but at first its just water loss so you may lose more and can report that too.

Weigh in days will be Wednesday's mid week. That way if you splurge on weekend you have a chance to get caught up.

You choose your own method and share with us whenever you want and we can learn from each other.

Ok by May we will lose 15-20 pounds, that is the end of May.

If you go faster thats good too. If you want to gain let us know and I have great Ideas for gaining LOL.

I myself will be cutting out junk food like chips and sweets, so sort of low (bad) carbs.

I think ! pound a week is easy enough, but good enough to realise we didnt put this extra 15 pounds on over night, so we need time to take it off as well.

So add your ideas, let us know how well you feel eating better and we can support each other.

Looking forward to summer , it will be here faster than we know it.

Good luck All who are in , come and chat anytime, leave a message whatever it takes.

One idea that comes to mind, for those without chronic pain conditions that can exercise: I was a referee for a local pro wrestling company here in St. Louis, and the co-owner (my best friend) and another guy worked up a diet that would consist of low-fat, mid-carb and high protein. The idea being that with the extra protein when working out that would help you develop and tone.

The side effect is you won't notice much weight loss per se, as muscle weighs more than fat. So what you'll be doing is losing fat and gaining muscle mass/tone. Take that into account for people who exercise and weight train. Something I would love to get back into doing.

Sounds good, but I need to go low carb, some good carbs too, 1 pound a week is not too hard, so this is the thread to join in losing weight to feel good again

My goal is 15-20 pounds by the end of May, I hope I make it.

Let us know if your in, and your goal too

Happy weight loss, no stress, just give up something mabe fast food or soda, drink more water. Your choice, write it here if interested

I've still got my shoulder therapy kit, which has different tensile strength bands, so I can do at least some exercise. And hopefully when my monies come in I'm going to actively go to the gym and do whatever I can.

Carbs are bad for me, as well, because diabetes runs rampant in both sides of my family. My biggest killer: A pot of coffee a day--with sugar. If I can cut that in half, and eat a smaller portion of dinner, I'd probably be okay.

Well, here goes nothing! Laughing

Well, I switched to an all-bran cereal to replace some of the sweet cereals I always eat (I usually eat two bowls a day and dinner), and I'm trying to take smaller portions of dinner. The big problem is that gran always has sweets in the house for dessert. That's really hard. Really, really hard to stay away from.
