Depression Support Group

ago and currently taking cymbalta. My life has been a literal hell over the last ten months and I went to my first rehab meeting and started AA. I was seeing a pain specialist for all my illness (9 of them) but I lost my job (human rights issues) and my benefits. Just one of my meds without benefits is $1700 so i do not take them and am in pain pretty much every second of every day. I have neuropathi pain (nerve damage) which no medication on the planet cantrol. Why I started drinking 9 months ago along with the work stuff. Now I cannot find a job because as soon as I mention "handicapped" or "special needs" the interveiw ends. I am waiting the 8 - 1 yr for ODSP and hopefully qualify. I am also waiting for trillium for meds coverage. I just had a rotten week with a flare up of 3 illness and a severe kidney and bladder infection. Now I am being tested for c difficle colitis. Life is needless to say a challenege. My mom has a severe depressive disorder and just got out of the hospital after a 6 week stay for a suicide attempt. It runs in my family. I do have a ton of pets and they keep me going. Nice to meet everyone!

Hello Cassyla it is great to have you with us in our depression group. My name is Viv hun and its nice to meet you. I do know how hard depression is and I know you have to be having a hard time.

Like myself you have a lot of medical conditions and not being able to get treatment because of no insurance I know is so hard. I just lost my medicaid here too and am going to be facing the same problems.

Chronic pain is hard too. I do know what nuropathy feels like and your right there is not really anything that will control that nerve pain. I am in a wheelchair and deal with it each day. Of course this makes the depression hard.
