MDJunction to me

mabri"When I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with fibromyalgia, I didn't know where to turn. I got on my computer and looked for a support group where I could talk to other people with the same disease and get some help...Information, suggestions, mostly just what I can do now that I have this.....disorder/disease/syndrome...I didn't even know what to call it. I found MDJ, and yes, there was a support group for fibro. I started a post, and figured I would never get an answer. However, very quickly I was welcomed in, and became really involved in the group. I received help, support, friendship and the feeling of being truly cared about by these strangers who had become like family to me. Now, I have been here for about a year and a half...I have become a group leader, and love every minute of it. It is so wonderful to be able to help others. I still receive help and answers from the members in this group. The fibromyalgia is where I go to help, support, listen, care and even laugh. I don't know what I would do without this group." I originally joined the COPD support group because my Mom has COPD. Then since I got so much wonderful support there, I should look into some groups for myself. As I was joining the stress management group, I realized I needed at least the depression group as well. Hey if nothing else, I am realizing just how f'ed up I am. LOL JK I have always known. he he

I have battled depression for years off and on. Tried a million different drugs. I always end up back on Prozac, it seems to work the best. I also have xanax for those especially hard times but I rarely take them because they make me tired.

Anyway, I have a VERY STRESSFUL job, and I care for my Mother and attend college online. Sometimes I get a little out of control over the pressure. I once ended up on a 3 month leave of absence because I was so down.

Have I thought about suicide? Oh yes! Have I thought about how I would do it? Oh yes! HOWEVER, I really do not think I could do that to my Mom. Well I KNOW I could not do that to her. What scares me soooo much.... she is on the road to leaving us and when she passes........................................... Sad Ermm Pinch Unsure

Jode, welcome to the group. Sounds to me like you've an overloaded plate. No wonder you're stressed. I'm glad that prozac works for you. And you'll find a lot of supportive, loving people here. I know this group has been of help to me, tho today I'm down a bit more than usual and haven't been writing very much.

Just wanted to welcome you.

Well thank you Sylvia for taking the time to welcome me, even when you are having a rough time of it. I just got into it with my sister and she really upsets my Mom when she starts in like that. All I want to do it protect my Mom but I am afraid she may do more harm than good. Thanks for the intro and welcome, I am here if you need to talk. Smile

Hi. I am Stacey I am a stay at home mother to two kiddos. One just diagnosed with autism in April. I had a really tough time of it with all the stress going on after the diagnosis. I can't say that I have ever had to take care of a sick parent, but stress I can relate to.

( I like to say that stress and I are not friends.) I have a hard time sometimes and want to crawl into a hole when it gets to overwelming for me. Just wanted to say welcome and that someone here is always here if you need us. Take care.

Wow, Jode, you really have a lot to deal w/. I hope that your mom is better and home soon. Adding trips to the hospital to your schedule just adds to your stress.

Again, I am here if you need to talk. Please let us know how you and your mom are doing. We care.
