I am new to this or any group. I have been having depresson problems for several years. I have lost several family members and my best friend recently. Other issues have entered into the mix including diabetes and related muscular and balance problems.

I have recently had a fall with resulting surgery to rebuild my knee. I find myself out of work and home bound for 3-6 months. Because of the balance prolems I can't use crutches or even a walker until I can put weight on the damaged leg.

How can I keep my spirits up?

Welcome to the board. I am sorry to hear about all the pain you are going through. That must be tough.

To keep your spirits up you just have to have faith. Faith that everything will work out. And you come here to this board anytime you need to talk or vent. PM me anytime also.

Thanks for the welcome. As I said before I am new to this and don't really know how it works. My dr. recommended I join. I feel ashamed of myself for being so down about a temporary situation. I just can't get myself together being a shut-in. This sucks.

Do you have any hobbies you can pursue while you are housebound? Or maybe you like to read or crochet? I love to read and I do a lot of crafts, and those activities keep me busy.
