Hi Nora~ Welcome to the Group. I did take Celexa , it was changed from when I was on prozac. To be honest with you it didn't help me at all. But , like you said its true, not all meds work for others like they will for you. For me , it just wasn't strong enough as prozac is. Plus you have to wean off the one in order to start the new drug in most cases.

I give you this URL , just click on the blue line and it will take you to a site that you can read more about it..I hope this helps you out some...and maybe tomorrow more people will come on to give you there opinion of this medication....

Best wishes Always

Patty

I have been taking Celexa for several years. It works great for me.

A few years ago Deplin (folate) was added because it ha been proven to boost anti-depression meds. Plus I had to take a folate since I was taking MTX.

Deplin is prescrition and is expensive...$80.00 momthly for us.

Our insurance paid for it while I was taking MTX but stopped when MTX was discontinued.

We tried a similar med which insurance paid for that was over $200.00 per month.

It didn't help so hubby and I pay for Deplin.

Yes, it helps that much. I would cut any corners to be able to afford it.

But, back to Celexa. I am glad it works so well for me.

Just as much of a chance it will work for you as not.

Worth a try.

Hugs

Hi Nora

I dont think it would be any harder than any other antidepressant medicine. You just have to wean off slowly under your DR.'s care and instructions...

Hi Nora

I have had to go through many med changes to find the right one for me in the past 25 years.

Many medications will differ from others. They also work differently for each person.

See and give it some time, at least 3 weeks , unless severe side affects.

You can read a lot from the net about the medicine that was prescribed for you at Drugs. com...They have all kinds of support and even a group of people that chat on how each med differed from the last one they were taking on that site.

Someone may come along and give your their opinion if they are on that medication....but no one is the same....

Hugs, Patty...Just click on the line below, then look at the a-z list of medicine , Hope this helps you!..

I haven't taken Celexa but as Patty suggested looking it up online to get some info. Sometimes you can find some reviews by people who have or are taking the med. Wish you luck. Rachele
