Hi Honeybee

We cant give any specific advise to you on dosage of medicine. I'm sorry, but I'm sure you can call your pharmacist or Dr's office for this information..they will be more than happy to explain it to you.

Have a great day!!! Patty

I'm an Advocate

Hi Honeybee, I didn't realize what everyone was talking about on the other thread. We can tell you what we take - including dosage, what kinds of reactions we've had, and we can suggest you ask or tell your doctor some of the things you're asking us that are too technical for us. The only difference between members and leaders is that we have a couple of more buttons than you. We are not trained except thru our own and others' expriences. Directions on the bottle (except is cases like mine - and believe me, I've one screwed up system) should be followed unless you do talk to your doctor or pharmacist, or if you have severe reactions. If you have serious reactions, call the doc immediately to make sure they are not worse than what you think and that you don't need to be seen.

I get my seven meds w/ directions 'cause they can't write rx's w/o directions, but they leave me to figure out what would best help in any given situation. But believe me, nobody's system is as screwy as mine. My doctor of 33 years just retired, and he's been spoiling me rotten for all those years. The last few years, since I've been homebound he set aside an hour a week to talk to me. He was my doctor, my counselor and my friend. It took him dozens of calls to find someone who would prescribe the only med I would not be able to live w/o. I might want to go w/o the other 6, but I would die w/in a couple of weeks of stopping this one. The off-label use is also off the wall, but I came very close to death many times over the 10 years it took us to find this, and it's the only thing that helps the problem I need it for.

The new doc is ok, and he also understands that I have to do what I have to do to curb as much pain as I can. Jim (my doc of 33 years) is the first to admit he has no idea of how my body works. But when I found him, I'd seen about 2 dozen doctors in a couple of months and had the same conversation w/ each. I should have taped one and just brought it to the others. Each one handed me an rx from a med I just told them would kill me. But Jim listened, and he said that may have been the strangest thing he'd ever heard, but if I was telling him it was happening, it was happening, and we'd have to find a solution. I breathed for the first time in the 3 months or so since I'd had a deadly reaaction to a med I'd taken for years. I was so relieved to know there was a doc who actually cared enough to listen to what I was saying. And there are very few doctors who'd have put in the time, for 10 years, to find a med that helped.

He also would not lie to cover for other doctors, and he stopped sending patients to a few docs I saw because he did realize I see more of what's between the lines than what's on them. One of the doctors was so high I was waiting for her to suddenly start flying. And her dx's were insane, as were her reports and everything else she did. Yet a young woman in the waiting room was raving about how wonderful the doctor was. I honestly didn't realize how seriously my fibro affected my senses until the last few years. Sure wish I'd known as a kid, before the others were laughing at me for things I'd no idea they honestly didn't sense what I did.

Off to lie down and not stopping to respond to anything else until I'm up again.

Have a lovely afternoon!

Sylvia

Good luck and please let us know how you're doing. We care.

Peace,

Sylvia

NOTE: I can't imagine anyone is surprised that distracted driving has overtaken drunk driving as the number one cause of death on the road. Please, y'all, keep your eyes sharp when you drive. The guy in the next car could be on a computer in the dash board (whoever dreamed that up should have to watch autopsies), while the one behind you is texting. It's important to be aware of those around you. The kid who ended my second to last life was in a huge SUV and on the telephone.
