This is harder then I thought it would be...

1. Rollerblading with my ex's daughter, while listening to her tell me about her day, her feelings, & things like her favorite animals. She always wants to spend time with me, and drags me around. I enjoy it as much as she does.

2. Being snuggled up to a good woman Wink

3. Sitting outside during rainstorms with an umbrella, and just letting my thoughts go where they go.

Name three things that make me happy? Hmmm...that's is a tough request.

Rational/logical/positive thoughts/interpretations of people and events in my life.

Setting up good boundaries in all social relationships and being consistent with them.

A great support system of family and acquaintances. (I have a hard time of making friends but I surround myself with positive and encouraging people).

It is something you really need to think about, when depressed..

but I do try to look at the positive side of life, more than the negative things that make me more depressed..I'm glad so many found this as a good thinking thread...Its great to know were happy about at least 3 things even in a day of something that made you happy...

1. It makes me happy to make others laugh or smile

2. A Kosher Hot dog w/ fried onions and green peppers

3. To make a new friend!!

Patty, do you have Osherwitz hot dogs, salamis, etc., your area?

Hope you are well.

I meant Osherwitz BRAND hot dogs, salamis, etc. And for the record, my mother used to mail salami to me when I was first married and living at Ft. Bragg (Fayetteville, NC). I don't think she did anything special; she just sent them. But w/ all the dogs smilling mail, and so much security, I don't thing it would work anymore. Which is ok 'cause I can eat no cold cut type foods. My migraines have returned, and those products, kosher or otherwise, are serius triggers.

I was asking about that brand because it is popular in the mid-west. The only other place I saw it was in the kosher butcher's in Dallas. A friend was sick. She and her husband had giving up being kosher when they moved to Dallas. This was in the mid-late 70's and besides a few things, like hot dogs, the only place to get anything resembling kosher meat was Manny's. Since they couoldn't afford the meat, they gave up being kosher. She called me one day and asked if I'd pick up a pound of ground from Manny 'cause her mother was coming. I asked her if her mother noticed she was frying the (remember - '70's) hamburger meat, which was about $7-8 a pound in a pan where Deb may have cooked bacon the day before. She said her mom knew that but refused to eat meat that was not kosher. If Manny's son or someone still has the only kosher meat store in Dallas, I bet the hb is about $15 per pound.

I love kosher hot dogs, salami, etc. And if the headaches go into remission again, yuo can be sure I'll be eating my share, but I'd do almost anything for an Osherwitz's salami. The other kosher brands are almost the same, but not quite what I was raised on.

Stay cool,

Sylvia
