I love all the Chaim Potok books. Some are The Chosen, The Promise, Davita's Harp.

I love Up the Down Staircase. It came out when I was 16, and I was so impressed that I wrote to the author. She wrote back - a hand-written letter as if she were writing to a friend. It started 'Why is it that I can never find stationery and envelopes to match?' Many years later I got to meet her. She cried when she saw that I had kept her letter, and she autographed my old paperback. Smile She's now 100 and not writing, but she was a super woman. Her name is Bel Kaufman. Meeting her was one of those moments we say life is made of.

I've always been an avid reader w/ a terrible memory for names. I'll think of more. Oh, all of the Faye Kellerman series w/ a detective and his wife solving crimes.

'I didn't have time to write a short [post].' Mark Twain wrote that one for me. LOL
'Wisdom is knowing when you can't be wise.'
'Life is what's happening while we are busy making other plans.'

NOTE: I can't imagine anyone is surprised that distracted driving has overtaken drunk driving as the number one cause of death on the road. Please, y'all, keep your eyes sharp when you drive. The guy in the next car could be on a computer in the dash board (whoever dreamed that up should have to watch autopsies), while the one behind you is texting. It's important to be aware of those around you. The kid who ended my second to last life was in a huge SUV and on the telephone.

I love Patricia Cornwell books especially the Scarpetta series. If you love suspense books her series is addictive.

Thanks bits and mc. I love telling that story.

Bits, I too like A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

I can't believe I forgot what is probably my favorite book of all time - Exodus. I read it so many times the pages started falling out as I turned them. Once I turned a page and out fell a picture of my bro and my cousin in Boy Scout uniforms! The picture was probably 20 =/-years old at that point. LOL

Anybody know how this set up knows to turn the book titles to red?
