MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted in a while because things have been crazy. I went to see my psychiatrist today for my routine appt and discussed with him the panic attacks I have been having over the pawst couple of weeks. I was on Klonopin for ever a year and we weened me off of it at the beginning of this year. I take Seroquel for anxiety and mood and this usually helps the anxiety. This time, however, it was not effective. So he and I made a verbal agreement that I would only take a benzo for 2 weeks while I am dealing with some added stress in my life. He prescribed me Xanax, which I know as a nurse is more addictive than Klonopin. However, Ativan and Klonopin do not touch my axiety anymore. I am hoping that I am able to take this medication and then will be able to stop it without any problems. I will probably need all of your support!

In addition, my husband was upset because I didn't tell him I was having increased anxiety. I am just so tired of burdening him with my issues and didn't want to worry him. His parents are coming into town next week (they always increase my stress level immensely) and he is even willing to tell them to stay home if it will help. I would never want him to miss a visit from his parents (they live 8 hours away) just because I have anxiety.

Sorry to be so long-winded..I just needed to write!

Hope you are all well and coping!

Love and strength,

JoJo

JoJo I hope the new medication helps you. I am like you, I dont always tell my husband when my anxiety or depression is worse cause I figure he gets tired of hearing about it. But he does get upset when he sees I am taking new pills or more pills and asks about it.
