My FAVORITE quote since I am a worry wart... (I got this from a desk calendar so I can't give credit to whoever wrote this - sorry!)

"Worry is like a rocking chair; it gives us something to do, but it won't get us anywhere"

I have to put this on my desk as a DAILY reminder that worrying does absolutely nothing but hurt us. It doesn't fix anything, it doesn't stop anything, heck - most of the time we worry about stuff that there is a 0.001 chance of happening!

I've learned to STOP worrying ALL day about what my fiancee is doing, where is he going, did he take care of this, did he do this, will he do this, I hope he doesn't do this.....

He is responsible for HIMSELF and I am responsible for MYSELF. Yes, he has BP. But yes he is still capable of making his own decisions, right or wrong. And he is going to do what he wants no matter how much I beg, plead, cry, threaten, etc. So all I can do is empower him, encourage him, and help him when he asks for my help.

Do I still worry? Yes, of course, that is human, but we have to take control of it or it will control us!

Here's another one I like, a Swedish proverb...

Worry gives a small thing a big shadow

This is one that has always helped me:

Phillipians 4:6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Worry is one thing I can gladly say God has taken off my hands.

I worry too...about a lot of stuff...the above quotes help...I don' know what I would do with myself sometimes if I don't worry...I mean that is WHAT I DO LOL...like it is a job or something. I am going to try to quit worring as much and start doing..instead of worrying.

this is a good thread and made me think

thanks, guys

Worry not about the possible troubles of the future; for if they come, you are but anticipating and adding to their weight; and if they do not come, your worry is useless; and in either case it is weak and in vain, and a distrust of God's providence.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

People get so in the habit of worry that if you save them from drowning and put them on a bank to dry in the sun with hot chocolate and muffins they wonder whether they are catching cold.

I worry during hurricane season and am constantly stocking up on supplies.

I watch every tropical wave coming off of the coast of Africa from June to November...since I live in SE TEXAS 20 miles from coast this is a real thing. I guess if I lived in Kansas and worried about hurricanes it would be different...still what I do is try to prepare. It helps the worrying.
