I have several pain issues. I had found a new rheumy who first visit listened and told me she was going to definitely change meds but needed blood work first to insure no other problems were going on. I come in today and she tells me I have too many spasms and pain. Then tells me no meds until next visit. I asked about what I should do she just said I want to start from scratch. I keep wondering if I should have told her I didnt understand how none could work better: Did I do right or was I being co-dependant? Plus I dont think I am going to be worth anything w/o some help. I am so frustrated.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

Dear singingangel,

She may be trying to see if you are going to be able to function without the meds. i am not sure why you are taking them? Is is for pain management? Why not try keeping a pain diary? Description of pain, severity on a scale of 1-10, duration, etc.

Hope you feel better. As far as this being co-dependant behavior, depends on if you are dependant on meds and can function without them or on a reduced dosage. Some meds become addictive...

I have an anti inflammatary for pinched nerves and muscle relaxant for spasms, etc. no narcotics or addictive meds. I have not even asked for them.I just wanted a med that might help the spasms better. She told me i was in moderate pain that goes to severe pain. Thats why I am so confused and frustrated. I am glad that not speaking up more wasnt being co dependant. I went through counseling and classes for it. I am trying to stay on the right path.
