My mother died six years ago now with Dementia, and I think about her everyday.

I always smile when I see a Bluebell, or a Forget Me Not Flower as I did in the woods today.

She knew the name of every flower yo came across on a walk in garden, woodland, or meadow.

As her Dementia developed she changed becoming a person I struggled to know, but with a lot of effort we still shared so many things like music, and the flowers she always loved.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who is supporting a friend or relative suffering from Dementia and how they face the daily challenges of living with them.

I am writing a book about my experiences in Dementia, supporting my Mother and working as a Nurse for a great many years supporting others.

my Grandma died of dementia too. She also loved music, as well as cooking and children. Things changed with the dementia, but in some ways I got to know her better, because she and Grandpa moved to live closer to my family and in the day to day care I got a chance to know her and to share some of the things she loved.

Not a medical professional...just another patient with my own set of experiences to share.
