I know that it is bad to mix anticoagulants with alcohol but common, you know you still do it sometimes! lol

My first week on warfarin 5mg per day, I decided to drink a lot of vodka and was carried out of the mens room and out to the car! I was very stupid for doing exactly what the doctors warned about. Laughing

I can have like 2 or 3 beers without any obvious adverse reactions.

So lets do a roll-call how many Factor V people are lurking about sipping on cocktails.

Dark,

I've tried everything to get this site to grow. I've done several roll calls, and only get a few responses.

I've been wanting to start a site for FVL. I've got the disorder and know most of the info on it. I usually inform the doctors when I see them.

If I talked to the big man, would you be willing to to be a group leader with me on a FVL site.

This is for dvt's. And alot of people have those, but I would like a site just totally for FVL. What do you think?

Let me know.

Kathy

I am sorry that I have not answered you before now. I was off my meds and I got scared of dealing with my performance anxieties. I have decided to say YES! I would be honored to become a group leader and we can work together to make this DVT Support Group a cool place to come and hang out and share our stories.

I don't know how to be a Group Leader so maybe you can help me?

Hey Dark,

I stumbled upon this site while doing my google search. I was diagnosed with my second clot and as of now i am on warfarin for life. It was a hard pill to swallow knowing that I would no longer be able to play rugby.

I am a college student and Im curious, do you still drink? If so, how much? The doctor said the usual (1-2 drinks a day, you are ok) but the only time I drink (id say 2 times every three weeks) I usually drink a lot. I know I will not be able to drink as much as I used to (obviously) but 2 drinks is rough id say.

How did that one night affect your INR level? Did you notice any bleeding?

Thanks

Welcome to this site. I'm the group leader. We see to have trouble with the members posting. I don't know why, but it's been that way over the last couple of years. They come and go, and I guess some of them are hiding behind closed doors.

I would like to think that they got to feeling better and no longer needed this site.

I hope they can get you fixed up. Sounds like you've gone through the rings.

Take care,

Kathy
