MDJunction to me

fluffyluggage"I found MDJunction at a time when I was struggling with so much. I
was so sick. I found a home, a place where people understood me, when
even my family doubted me. In MDJ, I found a place of refuge, love,
and support. I come here daily, to find my balance, to cope, and to
find that same support I've found from day 1. MDJ is my new family.
The friends I've made here will remain with me for a lifetime.

I know I haven't been online a lot lately, been busy getting my girls ready for back to school and numerous other things, but it's good to know that when I need a place to come to talk, this group is here! Well I've been in the hospital for the past 7 days and I'm loosing my mind! They have ran every test under the sun including my most hated one...Small Bowel Series! I'm pretty sure many of you have had this one before, well this is like my 5th one over the past 2 years and every time it's worst! This is the worst test to have to go through when you are already feeling crappy, this time it took 7 hours! I am miserable, I can't keep down any food and I am in a lot of pain. To add to that, I miss my baby girls, my hospital is a hour away from my home so I don't get many visits and then when I do get someone to bring my girls out to see me, I have to sneak them in or go to the lobby because they don't allow children under 13 on the floor I am on! I just needed to vent but while I'm at it, I was wondering what you do to ease or at least distract yourself from abdominal pain outside of narcotics. I'm looking for other things I can do while here in the hospital and when I go home, I've been using heating packs and a freind of the family taught me some breathing excercises but I need something else, please help!Blink

Awe...I am so sorry you are feeling so crappy. I hope they will be able to help you with your pain and vomiting. Maybe they will bring you a nice warm heating pad, just ask them. Ohh, maybe they will let you go sit in a hydrotherapy bath? I take it the pain meds aren't working?

Hang in there and I will pray for you.

Wow, i wish i had private rooms when i was admitted because some of the roomates i've had over the years were really something else. I have to many horry stores to share.

I've had the use the heating pads myself for pain when i had no other options. It works most of the time and then you have to leave it off some time to give your skin a rest because it can get dangereous because i almost feel asleep with mines on. Hope you can find some relief...

Thanks for the well wishes everybody, I am actually using heating pads, it helps relax me but the pain is still there. I have never tried a hydrotherapy bath, I will ask about that one. I am being given pain meds but at a really low dose becase they said they dont want to cause me to be constipated ( I've never had that problem, always had the opposite) but theh say that narcotics slow down everything in your gut which can cause that. I am trying to work with them but if I don't get some relief soon they are going to have to up the dosage, because I am uncomfortable. Trying to stay positive though.

Hang in there and maybe you should ask to talk to the hospital social workers about allowing the kids to visit you.

It can be very hard when you can't see your babies, I remember. I hope they are able to get more help soon so you can begin the healing process, so you can get home to the little ones. That was my main thought that kept me going. My thoughts are with you and your family.
