MDJunction to me

cinderella"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

does anyone have any experience with cimzia? It's a new biological med. I think it is a relatively new one. I am about to start in a study. I had very little relief from budesonide and now mesonmine.

thanks, Robin

I've been on cimzia injections since 01/09. I sent you a PM and some of the side effects I've had. Let me know when you're starting. I'd love to share feedback with you. Smile

I've been on Cimzia for a few months now, I've also been on a bunch of other biologic treatments (Humira, Abatacept, you-name-it). I kinda like Cimzia, I don't get the "flu-like" symptoms the next day, and it's just two shots in the tummy. I can really only think of 3 things to tell you about it, in terms of advice (but send me questions if you have any!): 1) watch your skin, I've had quite a few small skin abscesses with this one, so you need to be proactive getting them looked at with your doctor. 2) Watch yourself if you go out in the heat, I've found I get over-heated pretty quickly. Granted I live in Florida, so I'm talking 90-degrees with over 70% humidity Smile that might not be as big of an issue for you, but A/C is my friend. and 3) ask your doctor (if that's where you go for the shots) if you can call ahead and have them start mixing it before you get there. It takes FOREVER for the drug to mix, like a half hour or more, and you don't want to end up killing your entire afternoon in the waiting room of your GI.

I hope it works out for you!
