Got a new GI doctor he is highly rated in arizona and seems like an intelligent guy.He thought what my old GI doctor did was wrong choice also by putting me on Humira instead of remicade and not having me take Folic Acid also while on Humira. The new GI doctors office is pretty far from me though like 35miles but if he can help my crohns then it will be well worth the drive. He wants to put me on Imuran again since I have taken it before when I was first diagnosed,he thinks if he increases the dosage that it should help put my crohns in remission.Imuran scares me though it has risk of pancreas damage, and I cant just get a new pancreas if I have problems and also liver problems.Gotta love crohns medications the side effects are almost as bad as the disease if not worse...Hope everyone is doing ok and has a good weekend Smile

I'm an Advocate

Joe I hope this new GI does help. Its horrible living with crohns and not even the Doctors "get it". Like you I've been on the imuran before and basically told my GI the stuff wasn't working and unless he had a liver waiting in his back office I wasn't going to continue it. But hopefully you will great results and have great communications with the new GI. All my best.. Smile

I am on Imuran and I have blood work done every 4 weeks to monitor my liver function.Just make sure they do the blood work, so if it is doing damage, they can catch it early! They started me off on 50 mg's and after 3 good CBC's, they upped me to 100 mg's, then 150.So far so good!!!!I hope your new doctor works out for you.my new doctor is like 300 miles away :/ So 35 is not really that bad...LOL!

Take care Smile
