Yes, I second that. My face, as you can see in my pic, is from when i was on prednisone years ago. My face no longer looks like that. It more slim looking and sunken in...which doesnt look all that great either. Ermm

When I was on the prednisone a friend started calling me "tweety bird". I was very upset by that. Thankfully I take entocort now instead of the pred and it doesn't make me look like "tweety bird". Needless to say I did tell my friend what I thought he reminded me of. lol

I've been on the Prednisone for about 3 weeks now, and will be on it tapering for another 6-7 and I am very paranoid about the moon face reaction. I have lost alot of weight before being diagnosed with Crohn's (over 100lbs.) and this is something that really freaks me out. I have noticed a few blemishes, which I normally have pretty clear skin. Has anyone noticed things like that? Also, with the moon face, about how long does it take for the bloating to go down after tapering off of the steroid? Ballpark anyway's? I'm not sure if it's my paranoia getting the best of me, but I feel like my face maybe taking on a fuller shape the last week or so but people say I'm pipe dreaming, but these people are also my husband and close friends, so they probably know better than to tell me the truth! haha! Seriously though, any advice, thoughts, stories are greatly apprecaited. Thanks!

I have taken prednisone several times over the years for crohn's, and only experienced the moon face once, when I was on a high does for quiet a long time, like over a month. And, once the flare was gone and I had tapered off, it didn't take long for the moon face to go away. I also developed kind of like football-player shoulders...if you can picture a guy wearing football pads, but it looks really odd on a woman! but that too went away quickly after tapering off and stopping the pred. but, like I said, that was only when taking it for a long time at high dosage. SO, if you can get a flare under control quickly and not be on the pred. so long, you shouldn't see any of that. I am in a flare right now, taking pred. 30mg. for about 4wks, and haven't had any moon face or side effects other than hot flashes and some irritability! lol. good luck!

I have had some terrible hot flashes while on the pred. My face has definitely blown up. I can't wait to come off of this stuff. I am down to 20 mgs starting today for 7 days. I originally started the 20 last Monday but Wed they bumped me back to 30 until yesterday. I am a bloated mess. I am glad to know it didn't take too long for the moon face to go away. I just can't wait to be able to get back to the gym and walking so I can lose this weight. I am on the prednisone to flush Remicade out of my body because I got drug-induced lupus. I don't start the new treatment for my Crohn's until next week. It's a long road.....Luck to you as well!
